Editorial & scientific review policy

Purpose and audience

Our clinical guides, articles and courses are continuing-education material for dentists, dental students and dental teams. They explain biomimetic and adhesive restorative principles and are not a substitute for individual diagnosis, treatment planning or the manufacturer's instructions for any material.

Evidence and sources

Clinical statements are based on peer-reviewed literature (for example, journals such as Operative Dentistry, the Journal of Adhesive Dentistry, the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and Dental Materials), systematic reviews and consensus statements, and recognised textbooks. Each clinical guide lists its references so readers can check the primary sources.

Where the evidence for a protocol is limited or mainly laboratory-based, we say so. We distinguish established consensus from techniques that are still being evaluated.

Clinical review

Clinical content is written or edited by our editorial team and reviewed against its cited sources. Where a licensed dental professional has clinically reviewed a guide, their name, degree and role are shown on the guide together with the review date. We never display a reviewer who has not reviewed the content.

Course content is prepared by the instructor named on the course page.

Updates and corrections

Guides show their publication date and, when changed, their last-updated date. We review clinical guides periodically and when significant new evidence is published.

If you believe something is inaccurate or out of date, please tell us through the contact page. Substantive corrections are made promptly and reflected in the updated date.

Independence and sponsorship

Sponsors and partners do not write or approve our clinical guides. Product or brand names are mentioned only when they are needed to describe a technique or the materials used in the cited research, and not as endorsements.
